Our Family Session 2020

Every now and then, I get brave enough to try to throw in a quick session for my own little family with my trusty old tripod. It's getting trickier these later years as the little ones are squirmier, and especially trying to get 7 faces to all look and smile in the same direction at once with no one continuously clicking on the other end! But we got a few keepers!

I have been eyeing this old brick wall in Auburn for quite awhile, and finally found a Sunday before church that we could squeeze in a little shoot. But first we stopped at my mom's for some of her gorgeous background view! And of course we had to get Grandma in some! (She was long overdue for a professional portrait and needed some with the grandkids!)

So without further adeu, the Kroemer family, 2020! We made it.... phew!!!

God bless, and Happy New Year!

Akasha's Senior Session

Sooo many emotions with this post. Our oldest turned 18 today, and while we are so proud of her and excited for her new adventures in life, we also are aware of this deep ache knowing she is going on this new adventure on her own. I don't know if at any age in life you can ever be fully prepared for your fledglings to leave the nest. Wondering what kind of choices they'll make, if they'll be safe, if they'll be brave enough to ask for help if they need it. And yet this relationship between us will continue to evolve, from parent / child to friends. Trusting God to lead her. Celebrating her successes and encouraging her to get up after her failures.

Akasha, the girl who first made me a mom. I love being your bonus mom. You have grown into such a beautiful young woman. You outgrew me by the time you were in 6th grade, but I never minded looking up to you to give you a hug. Your snarky teenage comments make me giggle out loud. Stubborn to a fault. You are one of the most genuinely generous people I know, not expecting anything in return. Your dreams and ambitions are beautiful and full of vibrant possibilities - don't give up. I hope you grow to know your incredible worth and the way God has gifted you. We are looking forward to seeing those come to life.

We love you, Happy 18th Birthday sweetheart!

Julia & Tyler's Engagement Session

Ah, love... you just know it when you see it. And if laughter binds the heart, these two are sure to make it through anything! Julia and Tyler were so fun to work with because of their natural connection to each other. I was able to pick up little tad-bits of their love story, which makes capturing that connection even more enchanting. We used the lovely Matea park at sunset for their setting, and it couldn't have been more magical! If their wedding next September will be half as romantic as their engagement session, I seriously can't wait!!

Congratulations on your engagement, Julia and Tyler! I know you two will have a lifetime of happiness together!
