Rodewald Family Session 2022

I get the privilege of doing a session for this family get together every other year, and this year we traveled to Dan and Jan's home in Michigan. The idea was to use the big red barn, and it exceeded my expectations beyond description! Which is why I take pictures instead of write, haha! Their entire property was so charming and picture perfect. My own family even jumped in on a few quick shots! What started out as just a barn for a backdrop, ended up including a rolling field, a cool door, a tractor, and finally a tunnel of overgrown bushes that ended up being something altogether enchanting! We ended the long and unusually hot day of watching soccer and taking pictures with a sweet birthday party for Sophie in the backyard. I love that this family is so close and treats us like family too!

Sophie and Emily 2022

These two keep getting cuter every time I see them! I'm so happy to be able to create art for my family. Time just goes too fast, and I know these sessions will get more precious as time goes on. Emily is in second grade this year (... I had to think about that one a long minute!!) and Sophie is in kindergarten! Out on our last minute session, we got sidetracked by a fall festival going on at the park. The girls got to love on some amazing farm animals, including a camel! We walked the shady trail to the bridge and launch area and got some sweet breezy shots. These girls never disappoint!!

Lydia's Senior Session

Just on the heels of her older sister, this beauty is living her senior year and loving it! Always sweet and conversational, Lydia also has quite a vocal talent that has graced our church since she was a little girl. She has a solid foot forward in style, and fittingly is currently working at a local boutique. We decided to take her session to Matea park for that whimsical natural backdrop, and to my surprise, had the whole place to ourselves!! (That does not happen this time of year!) I could not have asked for more glorious lighting that evening, which made her hair glow and brought out that sparkle in her eyes. We got some stunning pictures! And thankfully, Lydia and her mom were adventurous enough to visit the creek and get her feet wet. Little did I know this was second nature to her, since she loves the creek at her grandpa's. I love it when we can make personal connections like that in a session.

Have an amazing senior year, Lydia! We can't wait to see what God has in store for you in this next chapter!
