Holland Family 2018

I have known my fair share of moving, so when Julie asked me to do a family session at their home in Twin Eagles before they moved across the country, I was flattered. I knew their schedule would be crazy with all the to-do list before the big day, but squeezing in some time to capture the essence of their home and their family was a sweet sentimentality for them, and a privilege for me.

The home, even in the midst of packing, was grand and welcoming. I can imagine all the memories they shared there. We took a few special portraits on a fallen log that looks like fate would have put it there, and with the kids with each of their trees that were planted when they were born. We took some with Grandma and Grandpa, sweet as can be. And then we went inside and took a few more of each of the kids in their own room, with the incredible (and probably pain-staking) works of art Julie painted on their walls.

Holland family, it was so great working with you. I do appreciate you allowing me to capture this special phase in your lives! I hope these images serve as happy reminders of your years lived here. Wishing you all the best!

Melanie & Tyler ~ the Wedding

I just can't get enough of this wedding! It seriously took me forever to narrow down which pictures to post here. Melanie and Tyler had a gorgeous day at The Charles for their ceremony and reception. And despite the heat, everything ran flawlessly!

Melanie wore a sophisticated lace dress next to her bridesmaids in royal blue, while the groom and his men looked dashing in their suspenders and matching argyle socks! This was the first ceremony held in the gardens, which featured a modern waterfall as a backdrop.

After the ceremony and a few more pictures, the bride and groom retired to the reception area with their friends and family. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, Melanie and Tyler opted for a selection of cheesecakes for dessert. The evening was filled with even more laughter and casual socializing than dancing, but it was congruent with Melanie and Tyler's easy style, which made the day such a breeze, and such a pleasure to work with them!

Congrats again, Mr. and Mrs. Rice! And best wishes as you start this new chapter in your life together!

Melanie & Tyler ~ the Engagement

This adorable couple opted for the downtown scenery for their engagement session, and I simply love it! Melanie and Tyler rocked their session in navy and green, which was a perfect compliment to the stone and brick that line the streets of Fort Wayne. We started our session outside of the Botanical Gardens, then across the street to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. From there, we walked down Calhoun Street and got a couple alley shots, stopped by the Art Museum, and finished up next to a colorful wall mural on Canal Plaza. It was a lot of walking, but so fun!!

Thank you, Melanie and Tyler, for being adventurous with me for your engagement session! So excited to photograph your wedding at the end of the month at the lovely Charles!
